Healthcare Career Summary and Qualifications

Sandra began her career in healthcare and was quickly promoted to management positions with increased operating and strategic responsibility in both for profit and nonprofit organizations. After receiving her MBA, she was appointed a Director of Patient Care Services in the largest health system in Illinois. Two years later, she was named Hospital Administrator for the Department of Medicine and reported directly to the Physician Chairman of Medicine and the President of the hospital for 10 years. Introducing an innovative model for developing physicians into business managers/executives, Sandra worked with the chairman to launch that model into the health care system. Her responsibilities included: recruiting physicians as divisional directors, negotiating their contracts/salaries and developing them into knowledgeable & effective business managers of their hospital departments and clinical practices. Working with the divisional directors, she was called upon to mediate conflicts, review incident reports and facilitate disciplinary action. She administered both the medical residency and fellowship programs which were part of the Chicago Medical School and the University of Chicago affiliations. Sandra had significant profit and loss responsibilities for the Department of Medicine, managed 14 medical divisions with 425 physicians, and developed and launched two product lines in Oncology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services. After achieving corporate success, Sandra combined her healthcare expertise, 10 years of coaching Physician executives/managers and proven track record of accomplishments to found Executive Solutions, a coaching, consulting and career strategy firm.
